2021 Grant Program from Dillsboro Main Street

Dillsboro Main Street will be awarding $8000 again this year in matching grants for façade, awning and signage improvements in downtown Dillsboro.

The purpose of the Façade/Awning/Signage Grant Program is to provide financial incentive to commercial or residential building owners located within the Dillsboro Downtown District. The incentive grants are funded through Dillsboro Main Street and administered by the Entrepreneurs and Small Business Assistance Committee. Restoration of individual façade, awning purchases, and new signage improves the visual appearance of the entire downtown, which is critical both to the success of individual businesses and to the economic health and vitality of Dillsboro. Last year’s return accounted for $16,000 invested in our downtown.

The program will provide (4) grants for a project match up to $1500 and (2) grants for a project match up to $1000. Only (1) application may be submitted per grant cycle. Applications must be submitted by property owners. Commercial tenants may apply with the written consent of the property owner. Projects must be completed within 6 months of being granted or written extension may be requested. Project requests must first be approved by Planning & Zoning and Downtown Dillsboro Design Commission.

Certificate of Compliance and location permits may be picked up at the Dillsboro Utilities Office if required. Application deadline is July 20, 2021.
