P Public Safety

Fire Prevention has always been very important to the Dillsboro Fire Department. The department has a Fire Prevention committee that is responsible for fire prevention education for the department. The 2012 Committee members are Scott Fortner, Kris Heitmeyer, and Andrew Tenhundfeld.

Every year in October a week is designated as Fire Prevention Week. Fire prevention week this year will be October 7th - 13th 2012. The committee and other members of the department will make visits to the Dillsboro Public School and will also have youngsters visiting the Firehouse to teach them about fire prevention. The Fire Department will mail out information about fire prevention to the citizens that live in the Town of Dillsboro and Clay Township. If you want further information about fire prevention week you can visit www.firepreventionweek.org.

We hope that you and your family will take time to learn about fire prevention and make a plan for your family in the event of a fire in your home. Visit the links below to learn more about fire prevention.
