The small businesses in Dearborn County are the fiber in our communities. They contribute to the tax base, they clean up our Main Streets and support all our quality of life projects.
The one unique quality that I believe sets a business way above the others, is a connection to their clientele. They don’t just serve the customer, they listen to their customers and create a unique bond. When they hear of a need or desire, they clearly act upon it. And the customer is then contributing to the business.
This year’s small business has taken customer satisfaction to a meteor level. Apart from a regular menu, this little family diner serves daily specials two meals a day. You can order sugar-free, gluten-free, or an extraordinary culinary delight such as frog legs, barbecue baby back ribs, or liver and onions.
They are also a driving force behind the business community through their generosity and considerate support. They never compete with community fundraisers or benefits such as the Fireman’s Hog Roast or the PTO Spaghetti Dinner. They close their doors for the Dora Ernst Memorial Brunch and encourage others to join them in attending the event to support our needy school children. They are first to support our downtown business promotions and town festivals.
Janet’s Diner was opened in 2006 by Janet Beard.
She has a staff comprised of family and devoted employees. The business has been expanded twice over the past 12 ½ years. Her customer base continues to grow and expand throughout Dearborn County and neighboring communities. We look forward to their continual growth and prosperity.
